One of the most famous images of our lifetime. This black and white 8x10 depicting the original flag raising on Mount Suribachi, Iwo Jima. Later in the day a second flag raising was conducted and famously captured in the iconic photograph by Joe Rosenthal.
The photo is signed by CHARLES W. LINDBERG (d.2007) one of the original flag raisers. Charles has inscribed this photo "1st Flag Raiser, Iwo Jima. Feb. 23, 1945, 10:30 a.m." The signature has been authenticated by JSA #R75576.
